BWINDI SPECIAL UGANDA TOUR
The major activity on this safari is Gorilla Trekking in Uganda; Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a magnificent green swathe of dense rainforest, so ascent that survived the last ice age. A recently proclaimed World Heritage Site, It is one of biologically diverse areas on earth and it is unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas believed to number just 720. There is also substantial chimpanzee population and research shows Bwindi is the only forest in A Africa in which these two species live together.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is famous for Gorilla Trekking in Uganda; Bwindi forest is located on the edge of great Western Rift Valley in South-Western Uganda, about540km from Kampala-the capital city of Uganda. Bwindi National Park Boarders other Gorilla safari parks in Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) separated by volcanic mountains in the great Virungas, Mahavura, Mgahinga and Sabinyo. Bwindi forest is the home to over half of the population of the remaining endangered mountain gorillas (over 350gorillas). Bwindi also has a variety of stunning attractions like 310 species of butterfly, 51 species of reptiles, 200 species of tress some of which are endemic to this area, 88 species of moths, and expectation 120 species of mammals, including the 10 primates.
Day 1 Drive to Kisoro
In the early morning (7am) we pick you from the guest house, hotel, lodge or place of residence of your choice and leave for the South West of Uganda. The first part of journey takes us through central Uganda and after a stop in Mbarara for a lunch, after our delicious lunch we continue on the last stretch through a beautiful landscape also defined as the “Switzerland of Africa”, mountains,and lakes, hills with cultivated terraces, tropical rain forest and bamboo forest. On the landscape unfold the beneath us, taking the vast Uganda, Rwanda and Congo with the Virunga volcanoes dominating the view. At the bottom of the last hill plains the Valley in Kisoro, where we will stay at the most famous travelers Rest Hotel.
In the sixties, the famous American ‘gorilla woman’ Dian Fossey visited the TravelersRest Hotel many many times to do paperwork, relax or meet people. Fossey said about the Hotel: “It was my second home”. Travelers Rest Hotel is just outside Kisoro and offers a cozy stay for the tourists coming to see the endangered mountain gorillas. The hotel, built in somewhat colonial style, and entirely renovated in 1999, it has a comfortable ambiance.

Day 2 Bwindi Gorilla Trekking
After the early morning great breakfast, depart to the park headquarters for briefing by the park ranger guides before starting the Gorilla trek, the beauty of this rain forest is spectacular. The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and it’s incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates.
The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savored the thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spending time in own watching the gorillas to about their activities. Each gorilla safari encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adult feeding grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.
Time permitting, spend the afternoon on the community foot safari to explore the lifestyle of the people living and surrounding the park. Return to the camp exhilarated to relieve the encounter with friends over a drink.

Day 3 Transfer from Bwindi to Kampala
After an early breakfast, we shall drive to Mbarara town for your lunch at Igongo cultural Centre. On our way back to Kampala we will make a stopover at Uganda Equator for some memorable experiences and finally continue to Kampala / Entebbe airport for evening flight.
